Inspiration - bubble trade show

I visited Bubble kids trade show today in Islington, London.  It was great because there seemed to be more organic companies there than last year.  I've shared the trend for Autumn/Winter seen at the show below.  I love 'The look' descriptions...

PUNK TECH

The look:  Garage band leader singer meets amateur astronomer in a mange comic chat room.

Inspiration:  Kurt Cobain, Kaiju comic books and art, Tame Impala, The shining twins, William Broome's illustrations for Marc Jacobs.

Key looks:  Classic silhouettes infused with angsty rock detail, rebellious styling and crazy layering, graphics over graphics, beat up button shirt worn over favourite band tee, destroyed denim with mends, rips, bleach spots and scribbles, distressed leather motorcycle jackets and biker boots keep it rocking.

Colours:  Aubergine, bright purple, pale grey, pink/flesh, magenta and red.

FINISHING SCHOOL

The look:  Upper-crust blue-blood kids raid kooky aunt's closet.

Inspiration:  The Royal Tenenbaums, The young equestrian Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, Eloise book series.

Key looks:  Tailored, proper attire with an eccentric twist, Mix of baroque prints, tweedy marled yarns and school stripes, corduroy blazers with crests, Proper cardigans and prim blouses, Jodhpurs paired with shetland sweaters and status scarves, Over accessorised with baubles and jewels, Equestrian caps complete the look.

Colours:  Mid grey, black, violet, chocolate, warm reddy brown and sand.

ECO CAMP

The look:  Forest rangers-in-training meet Greenpeace activists.

Inspiration:  Vintage boy scout uniforms, hand books and First Aid kits.  Heritage outdoors gear.  Amelia Earhart and her aviatrix style.  Dre Wapenaar Tree tents.

Key looks:  Authentic functional outdoor staples worn layered, rugged work shirts, brushed flannels, fleece vests, heritage details, skinny fits evolve the cargo.  Military inspirations for outerwear, vintage plaids and fair isles.  Wildlife enthusiast graphics and patches, camouflage palette evolves from military to ecology.

Colours:  Black, chestnut, gold, forest green, khaki, orange.

MYTHICAL WINTER

The look:  Storybook creatures meet folkoric villagers in an imaginary land...far, far away.

Inspiration:  Grimm's Fairy Tales from the 1800's, The movie Mongol, The Three Bears illustrations by Arthur Rackham, Art by Benjamin Lacombe

Key looks:  Wintery layers hint at authentic folkloric costume.  Cosy cocoon shapes, chunky sweaters double as coats, plush eskimo hoods, thermals, sweater tights and leg warmers, fur trims are key.  Folklore motifs evolve in an icy palette of purples, greys and steel blues.

Colours:  Grey, mint green, lavender, rich purple, aubergine, pale warm grey and steel blue.
